He could wrap his voice around a heartbreaking melody and make you cry, then get your blood boiling with a powerfully soulful rocker. He was a critical darling but didn't hit the high end of the charts until he teamed up with Power Station in '83, then followed that up with his biggest hit 'Addicted To Love' in '85.
